The Pyramid of Sahure is the funerary monument built for the pharaoh Sahure of Egypt's Fifth Dynasty in the late 26th to 25th century BC, at Abusir on a site earlier used by Userkaf for his sun temple. Sahure's pyramid began a period of pyramid building at Abusir carried on by his successors. The site was first properly excavated by Ludwig Borchardt between 1907 and 1908, whose findings formed the basis of his standard reference work on the monument.
