The Pyramid of Teti is a smooth sided pyramid in the pyramid field at Saqqara, built for Teti, founder of Egypt's Sixth Dynasty. It is the second known pyramid to contain the Pyramid Texts, and its complex includes a satellite pyramid, two pyramids built for queens with accompanying cult structures, and a funerary temple. Gaston Maspero opened the pyramid in 1882, and further excavation campaigns explored the complex between 1907 and 1965; above ground the structure has weathered into what looks like a small hill, though its underground chambers and corridors remain well preserved.
