Rattle and Snap

Rattle and Snap, also called the Polk-Granberry House and once known as Oakwood Hall, is a plantation estate on North Main Street in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Its centerpiece is a mansion built in the mid-1840s that is considered one of the grandest expressions of Greek Revival architecture in Tennessee. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 both for its architecture and for its association with the Polk family, once among the largest landowners in eastern Tennessee, and remains privately owned though it may be viewed by appointment.
