The Riksdag Building, known in Swedish as Riksdagshuset, is the seat of the parliament of Sweden and occupies nearly half of the island of Helgeandsholmen in the Gamla Stan district of central Stockholm. Architect Aron Johansson designed the complex in a Neoclassical style with a centered Baroque Revival facade, built between 1897 and 1905 and inaugurated on 11 January 1905. The semicircular building originally housed both the Riksdag and the Sveriges Riksbank, Sweden national bank.
