The Oriental Pearl Tower is a futurist television tower in Lujiazui, Shanghai, built from 1991 to 1994, that stood as the tallest structure in China until the nearby Shanghai World Financial Center was completed in 2007. Its standing as Shanghai's first AAAAA rated tourist attraction, together with its distinctive architecture, height and fifteen observation decks, has made it a cultural icon of the city.
