Sherwood Forest Plantation is an estate on the north bank of the James River in Charles City County, Virginia, along the Route 5 scenic byway between Richmond and Williamsburg. Its main house, built in 1730, was the home of the tenth U.S. president, John Tyler, for the last twenty years of his life, and stands about 1.5 miles from the river. The estate was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
