Staffarda Abbey, formally the Abbazia Santa Maria di Staffarda, is a Cistercian monastery founded in 1135 near Saluzzo in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy as a daughter house of Tiglieto Abbey under the patronage of Manfred I, Marquis of Saluzzo. The abbey grew into an important regional agricultural and commercial center, and in 1750 was placed under commendatory administration by the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus. It survives today as a historic monument centered on its abbey church and cloister.
