Surajkund is an ancient reservoir dating to the 10th century, located on the southern Delhi Ridge of the Aravalli range in Faridabad, Haryana, about 8 kilometers from South Delhi. It is an artificial kund built against the Aravalli hills, with an amphitheater-shaped embankment in a semicircular form. It is said to have been built by the king Surajpal of the Tomara Rajput dynasty, a sun worshipper who also built a sun temple on its western bank.
