Tamminiemi is a Jugendstil villa in the Meilahti district of Helsinki, designed by the architects Sigurd Frosterus and Gustaf Strengell and built in 1904. It served as one of Finland's official presidential residences from 1940 to 1982, housing presidents Risto Ryti and Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim in turn before becoming closely associated with President Urho Kekkonen, who lived there from 1956 until his death in 1986. Since December 1987 the building has operated as the Urho Kekkonen Museum, presenting Kekkonen's presidency alongside the wartime and postwar history of Finland, and it underwent a further renovation between 2009 and 2012.
