The Cottage is a nineteenth century plantation complex of 281.8 acres near Upper Marlboro in Prince George County, Maryland, at 11904 Old Marlboro Pike, made up of a three part main house with its own domestic outbuildings and four tenant farms. Built in 1846, the two and a half story main block has Greek Revival interior work and Italianate cornice brackets, with a well house, ice house, and meat house standing within 150 feet of the house. It was the home of Charles Clagett, a leading Upper Marlboro civic figure who served as a county commissioner after the Civil War, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 13, 1989.
