The Wilder Homestead is located on Ashfield Road in Buckland, Massachusetts. The main house was built around 1775 for Gardner Wilder, a fairly typical two-story Georgian colonial dwelling in which the rear roof extends down to the first floor in saltbox fashion. A contributing barn on the property was also begun around 1775 and later significantly enlarged. The property remained with Wilder's descendants until 1981, when the homestead and a 58-acre parcel were donated to the Buckland Historical Society, which moved a 19th-century shoe shop to the site in 1991 and operates the property as a historic house museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
