Uppsala Cathedral stands between the University Hall of Uppsala University and the Fyris river in the center of Uppsala, Sweden, and serves the Church of Sweden's Evangelical Lutheran tradition as the seat of the Archbishop of Uppsala, primate of Sweden. It is the burial site of King Eric IX, who became the nation's patron saint, and was traditionally the site of the coronation of new Kings of Sweden.
