Verulam House is located on Verulam Road in St Albans, on the northwestern side between Church Crescent and Britton Avenue, opposite College Street. It has previously been known as Diocesan House and also as the Bishops Palace, taking its name from a house built in central St Albans by Francis Bacon. The present building is of early nineteenth-century origin and is a Grade II listed building.
