Wat Phra Kaew, known in English as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. Its complex of buildings stands within the grounds of the Grand Palace in the historic center of Bangkok and houses the Emerald Buddha, venerated as the country's palladium.
