The Zhuzhou Television Tower is a 293-metre freestanding telecommunications tower in Zhuzhou, Hunan province, China, completed in 1999 after roughly three years of construction at a reported cost of more than 13 million dollars. It ranks among the tallest towers in China and is the second-tallest steel tower in the country, broadcasting five television channels and two radio channels for the city. The tower carries a revolving restaurant and an open-air observation deck near its summit, and it has since been redeveloped as a tourist attraction under the additional name Shennong Tower, drawing on regional cultural associations with the legendary Chinese ruler Shennong, while remaining an active broadcasting facility.
