The House of Laments is an 18th century mansion in Guanajuato, Mexico, originally built for the daughter of the Marquess of San Clemente and later used as a post office. In the 1890s and 1900s it was the residence of Tadeo Fulgencio Mejia, who committed a series of murders there reportedly driven by a belief that he could contact his deceased wife, and the building is popularly said to be haunted. It now operates as a museum protected under local and state heritage legislation.
