Walt Disney Concert Hall is a concert hall at 111 South Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles, designed by Frank Gehry and completed in 2003 as the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Its exterior is composed of curving, angled stainless steel panels in Gehry's deconstructivist style, developed using the CATIA software originally built for aircraft design to manage the geometry. Inside, the main hall places the audience in a vineyard-style arrangement around the stage, its walls and ceiling finished in Douglas fir, with acoustics designed by Yasuhisa Toyota that have been praised for their clarity and warmth. The building is widely regarded as one of the most acoustically successful concert halls built in recent decades and as a defining work of Gehry's career.
