Calderstones House

Cultural and Institutional Buildings

Calderstones House is a nineteenth century mansion in Calderstones Park, Liverpool, England, built in 1828 for the lead shot manufacturer Joseph Need Walker. Acquired in 1875 by Charles MacIver, co-founder of the Cunard Line, the house and estate were given to Liverpool Corporation in 1902 and turned into a public park; the Grade II listed mansion later served as council offices, and since a restoration completed in 2019 it has operated as The Reader's International Centre for Shared Reading, alongside the Neolithic Calder Stones that give the area its name. Has Building Type

House, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
