It was founded in 1966 as the Chicago School of Architecture Foundation to save H. H. Housed at One Illinois Center, a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe-designed building at 111 East Wacker Drive, the Centers exhibits include a scale model of Chicago with more than 4,250 miniature buildings, and its hundreds of docents and volunteers serve more than 50,000 members and guests each year.
