Hagen Open-air Museum

The Hagen Open-air Museum, formally the LWL-Freilichtmuseum Hagen, Westphalian State Museum of Crafts and Technology, is an open-air museum in Hagen, in the southeastern Ruhr area of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Founded in 1960 alongside the Detmold Open-air Museum and opened to the public in the early 1970s, it is run by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe, the regional authority for Westphalia and Lippe. Spread across roughly 42 hectares, the museum reassembles nearly 60 historic workshop buildings that trace 200 years of craft and trade history, with more than twenty of them staffed for live demonstrations of skilled urban and rural trades and their tools.
