Doddington Hall is an Elizabethan prodigy house in the village of Doddington west of Lincoln, England, designed by the architect Robert Smythson and built between 1595 and 1600 for Thomas Tailor, a lawyer who served as Recorder to the Bishop of Lincoln. The house is built around walled courtyards behind a gabled gatehouse and is only a single room deep at its center, though its interiors were substantially updated in the 1760s. It remains a Grade I listed building in private ownership, set within six acres of walled and wild gardens, and is open to the public.
