Palace and villa entries within this atlas's Palaces of Italy group whose subject stands in Sud, Italy's own southern mainland macro-region: Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria. Belongs here: any palace or villa this atlas records as standing in one of those regions, among them the Bourbon royal palace at Caserta and the villas overlooking the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi coast. Does not belong here: a residence anywhere in Northern, Central or island Italy, gathered under this same group's siblings, Palaces of Northern Italy, Palaces of Central Italy and Palaces of the Italian Islands; this group is smaller than the usual grouping floor this wave has otherwise applied elsewhere, kept separate here because Sud is one of Italy's own four real macro-regions, not an invented split, and the same standard this Palaces of Italy split otherwise follows throughout.
