Fort Hill Estate

Palaces and Aristocratic Residences

Fort Hill Estate is a Tudor Revival mansion of brick and limestone on Fort Hill Drive in Lloyd Harbor, Suffolk County, New York, built in 1879 as a summer home for Anne Alden and enlarged in 1900 for industrialist William John Matheson by the firms McKim, Mead and White and Boring and Tilton into a three-story, asymmetrical mansion with a conical tower. The 22.8 acre property occupies the site of the Revolutionary War's Fort Franklin and also includes formal gardens, a water tower, a superintendent house, garages and a cottage. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Has Building Type

House, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
