Catete Palace is an urban mansion in the Flamengo neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, stretching from Rua do Catete to Praia do Flamengo. Construction began in 1858 and finished in 1867. It served as Brazil' presidential palace from 1897 to 1960 and was the site of President Getulio Vargas' suicide. The building now houses the Museu da Republica and a theatre, with the Catete metro station adjacent.
