Bishop's Palace, Paignton

The Bishop's Palace in Paignton, Devon, was the manorial centre and an occasional residence of the bishops of Exeter from the 11th century until the early 16th century. Its surviving medieval walls and fourteenth century corner tower, sometimes called Coverdale's Tower, stand beside the parish church of St John the Baptist and are protected as a scheduled monument and Grade II* listed structure, alongside the fragmentary remains of the palace chapel and a twentieth century Grade II listed vicarage within the walls.
