Villa Negroni is a mansion at Via Morosini 1 in Vezia, in the Swiss canton of Ticino, built in the early 18th century by Carlo Morosini and rebuilt in Baroque style with elements of Italian classicism, its south facade carrying sixteen window axes framed in stucco; the house was substantially reconstructed between 1910 and 1920 under Giovanni Antonio Negroni. In the 19th century it became an intellectual center of the Risorgimento, drawing figures such as composer Giuseppe Verdi and painter Francesco Hayez, and it held the heart of Polish general Tadeusz Kosciuszko as well as serving as a mausoleum for Italian independence fighters. Owned by the city of Lugano since 1976, it is registered as a Swiss cultural property of national significance and ranks among the most important historic residences in Ticino.
