Seager Wheelers Maple Grove Farm

Seager Wheelers Maple Grove Farm is a National Historic Site of Canada near Rosthern, Saskatchewan, the 185 acre homestead established in 1890 by the agronomist Seager Wheeler, known as the Wheat King of the Prairies. Wheeler developed drought-resistant farming methods and hardy grain varieties suited to the short prairie growing season, and wheat grown at the farm won five World Wheat Championships between 1911 and 1918. The site was designated a National Historic Site in 1994, and the Seager Wheeler Historic Farm Society purchased and restored the property, opening it to the public in 1996.
