Warner Hall is a historic plantation in Gloucester County, Virginia, established in 1642 by Augustine Warner after he received a royal land grant. Warner was an ancestor of many prominent First Families of Virginia and a great-great-grandfather of President George Washington, and he served in the House of Burgesses, as did many of the property's later owners. During Bacon's Rebellion, rebels sacked and looted the plantation and used it as their headquarters after sacking Jamestown. Ownership passed through the Warner and Lewis families for generations, with descendants serving in the House of Burgesses and, later, in the cause of the American Revolution. The original house burned down in 1840, and around 1900 the two surviving outbuildings were joined to form a Colonial Revival mansion, which today operates as a country inn. The property's cemetery, containing graves of the Warner and Lewis families, has been maintained since 1903, and the plantation was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
