Bayside

Residential Buildings

Bayside is a historic sugar plantation house on Louisiana Highway 87 near Jeanerette in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, built in 1850 by planter Francis DuBose Richardson as a two-story brick, central-hall Greek Revival house reputed to have the largest screened porch in Louisiana. Richardson, a onetime classmate of Edgar Allan Poe, served in the Louisiana Senate and helped establish the Louisiana School for the Blind; his daughter married U.S. Senator Donelson Caffery II, and a great-grandson later served as a U.S. Representative. The house and six surrounding acres were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Has Building Type

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
