Kebaya house

Rumah Kebaya is the name of a traditional house of the Betawi people. The name comes from the shape of its roof, which resembles a fold of the kebaya style of dress, visible when the house is viewed from the side. Alongside the Rumah Gudang and Rumah Joglo, it is one of three traditional Betawi house types, though the government recognizes Rumah Kebaya as the community's legitimate house form. A wide terrace, used to receive visitors and as a place to relax, is a main characteristic of the house.
