Architectural-material entities are the building materials this atlas documents as a dedicated index, split out from the element type's generic Material bucket, grouped into eight bands: Composite and Synthetic Materials, Concrete, Cement and Cementitious Materials, Earthen and Traditional Materials, Glass Materials, Insulation and Roofing Materials, Metals, Stone and Masonry Materials, and Timber and Engineered Wood Materials. This band is the atlas's fuller material reference, covering everything from ordinary Portland cement to cross-laminated timber, distinct from element's own Material SubLabel, which stays the smaller structural-vocabulary bucket the element type itself uses.
