Building entities are the individual named structures this atlas documents as reference entries, grouped into eleven function-based bands: Religious and Sacred Buildings, Palaces and Aristocratic Residences, Residential Buildings, Government and Civic Buildings, Fortifications and Military Architecture, Monuments, Towers and Commemorative Structures, Tall Buildings and Skyscrapers, Commercial and Office Buildings, Cultural and Institutional Buildings, Hospitality Buildings, Transportation Buildings, and Archaeological Sites and Ancient Remains. This band is the atlas's largest and its most concrete: a single physical structure, from a Sumerian ziggurat to a modern supertall tower, distinct from the style it exemplifies or the architect who designed it.

View At A Past Year

The atlas records no dated fact of its own for this entry, so there is no other year to choose.
