Styles and Movements

Style entities are the named architectural styles and movements this atlas documents, from ancient and classical forms through contemporary practice, grouped into eight period-based bands: Ancient and Classical Architecture, Medieval Architecture, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical Architecture, Nineteenth-Century Revival and Eclectic Architecture, Early Modern Movement Architecture, Postwar and Late Modern Architecture, Postmodern and Contemporary Architecture, and Regional and Traditional Architecture. This band is the entry point for browsing architecture by its aesthetic and theoretical movements, distinct from the individual buildings that exemplify a style and from the architects who worked within or against it.
