Kadamba architecture was a style of temple architecture founded by Mayurasharma in the fourth century AD in Karnataka, India. The Kadambas created a new architectural style that became the basis for the later Hoysala style and developed an original school of sculpture that was a forerunner of a series of South Indian sculptural traditions. Many temples at Aihole, Badami, and Hampi are built in the Kadamba style.
