Design Systems and Proportion Theory

Formal systems for organizing a design mathematically or compositionally: the classical orders, the golden ratio and the Modulor as proportioning systems, modular coordination and pattern-language approaches to composing a whole building or set of buildings from repeatable parts. Belongs here: any named system whose primary claim is a rule for proportion, scale or compositional order. Does not belong here: general design principles that are not themselves a formal system, such as form follows function, grouped under design principles and theory.
