Urban Planning and Design Movements

Urban planning as a discipline and the named movements and concepts that have shaped how cities and neighborhoods are designed: new urbanism, placemaking, walkability and the fifteen-minute city. Belongs here: urban planning itself and any named movement or concept whose subject is the design of streets, neighborhoods or whole cities rather than a single building. Does not belong here: sustainability concepts applied at the building scale, such as passive solar design, grouped under sustainable and contemporary practice, even where an urban movement shares its sustainability motivation.
