Material

The substances a building is made from, from ancient earthen materials such as adobe and rammed earth through the engineered materials, structural steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete, corten steel and cross laminated timber, that made the twentieth century's structural forms possible. Belongs here: any named building material treated as an entity in its own right.
