30 Hudson Yards rises on Manhattan's Far West Side, completed in 2019 to a design by Kohn Pedersen Fox as the centerpiece office tower of the larger Hudson Yards redevelopment built above an active Long Island Rail Road storage yard. At roughly 387 meters it is among the tallest buildings in New York City, its stepped massing arranged around a central spine that lets each office floor plate maximize perimeter window exposure. Near its top the tower carries Edge, a triangular outdoor observation deck cantilevered more than 24 meters beyond the building's facade with a glass floor, marketed as the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere at its opening. The tower anchors the broader Hudson Yards complex, one of the largest private real estate developments in United States history, built over the rail yard using a platform of concrete caissons driven around active tracks.
