593 Serangoon Road is a shophouse at the corner of Serangoon Road and Balestier Road in Singapore, built in the 1930s and recognizable for its curved street frontage. The Singapore Institute of Science, founded in 1940 as one of the first local institutions to offer science laboratory instruction, occupied the entire second floor from 1952, while the ground-floor coffee shop became a nightclub during the 1970s known by names including the Gold Cup Bar and Restaurant, among the notable night spots near the former New World Amusement Park. The building was gazetted for conservation in May 2018 and today operates as the Sin Peng Lounge.
