Arlington Plantation (Lake Providence, Louisiana)

Arlington Plantation is an 1830 Greek Revival plantation house along Schneider Lane near Lake Providence in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana, fronted by a six-bay, two-story Doric gallery overlooking the lawn toward the lake. It is one of only about four surviving two-story galleried Greek Revival mansions in northeastern Louisiana and is associated with Edward Sparrow, a wealthy cotton planter and Confederate politician. The 6 acre property, which also includes a twentieth-century cottage, a gazebo over a cistern, a garage and a buggy shed, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 3, 1980, as part of a survey of Lake Providence historic buildings.
