Bloomberg London is an office building at 3 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London, designed by Foster and Partners with structural engineer AKT II and opened in October 2017 as the European headquarters of the financial information company Bloomberg L.P. It occupies the site of the former Bucklersbury House and consists of two connected structures joined by a public arcade that reinstates a stretch of the ancient Roman road Watling Street, accommodating around 4,000 staff. The building's exterior combines 9,600 tonnes of Derbyshire sandstone with bronze ventilation fins, and its interior is organized around a helical bronze ramp roughly 210 meters long, its ceilings fitted with custom aluminum panels that double as lighting, cooling and acoustic elements. Built at a cost of about 1 billion pounds, it achieved a score of 98.5 percent under the BREEAM sustainability rating system, the highest ever recorded for a major office development at design stage, and it won the 2018 Stirling Prize.
