Broyhan House

The Broyhan House is a residential and commercial building constructed in 1576 in the historic old town of Hanover, Germany, standing on cellar walls dating to the 14th century and ranked as the second oldest preserved half timbered building in Hanover. Its facade was renovated in 1830 and the building underwent restoration between 1984 and 1987; it is a listed architectural monument. Today it operates as a restaurant in its vaulted cellar and lower floors, with residential apartments above, and it is named after Cord Broyhan, a brewer credited with inventing a beer style that boosted the economy of Hanover before production ceased in 1919.
