The Butchers' Guild Hall, known in German as the Knochenhaueramtshaus, is a half timbered building on the market square of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany, built in 1529 in the Gothic style as a meeting hall for the town's prosperous butchers' guild. Standing 26 meters tall over seven floors, it ranks among the tallest half timbered buildings in Germany, and its wooden facade carries carved and painted decoration and inscribed proverbs. The original hall was destroyed in the Second World War and reconstructed between 1987 and 1989; it now houses a restaurant and the Hildesheim City Museum and hosts the city's annual Christmas market.
