C. W. Dickey House

The C. W. Dickey House at 3030 Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu, Hawaii, was built in 1926 as the home of architect Charles William Dickey, who lived there until 1933. Its single story, double-pitched hip roof with wide overhanging eaves, board and batten siding, acid stained concrete flooring and enclosed lanai became recognizable enough in the buildings Dickey designed afterward that the roof shape is often called a Dickey roof, and the house is regarded as an early prototype of the Hawaiian regional style he helped define after moving to the islands in 1925. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 1, 1984.
