The Ca' d'Oro, also called Palazzo Santa Sofia, is a palace on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy, whose name translates to House of Gold, a reference to the gilt and polychrome decoration that once covered its facade. It was designed for the Contarini family by Marino Contarini and later restored by Baron Giorgio Franchetti, who converted it into a museum in 1927, since known as the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca' d'Oro.
