Casa Roig Museum

The Casa Roig Museum is a historic house museum in Humacao, Puerto Rico, built in 1920 as a private residence for the sugar planter Antonio Roig. It was designed by the Czech architect Antonin Nechodoma, who adapted the American Prairie School style to a Caribbean setting, giving the house a cruciform plan on two floors and a basement, built of concrete and wood with stained glass and mosaic decoration. It is the only complete residential building by Nechodoma to survive. Added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1977, the house was restored and reopened as a museum in 1989, and was separately designated to the Puerto Rico Register of Historic Sites and Zones in 2001.
