Edward Salyer House

The Edward Salyer House is a wood-frame Dutch Colonial house on South Middletown Road in Pearl River, New York, built around 1765 by original owner Edward Salyer Sr. on thirty acres acquired through the Kakiat Patent. It is one of the rare surviving Dutch Colonial frame houses in the county and possibly the oldest house in Pearl River, a two-and-a-half-story building with a gambrel roof, overhanging eaves, and a center-hall plan, retaining original interior finishes, Federal-style fireplaces, wide-plank flooring, and period hardware. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 along with its original fieldstone well, after the Conques family, who bought the property in 1960, removed later additions during restoration.
