The Flatiron Building is a 22 story, 93.6 meter steel framed triangular building at 175 Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, New York City, designed by Daniel Burnham and Frederick P. Dinkelberg and opened in 1902. It occupies a triangular block formed by Fifth Avenue, Broadway and East 22nd Street, coming to a narrow point at its back on East 22nd Street, and its name comes from its triangular shape, said to recall a cast iron clothes iron.
