The La Garenne Lemot estate is a landscaped park and villa complex in the communes of Getigne and Clisson in the Loire-Atlantique department of France, on the border with Vendee in the Sevre Nantaise valley, created from 1806 by the sculptor Francois-Frederic Lemot as an idealized tribute to the Italian countryside. Lemot's neo-Palladian villa and its Italianate ancillary buildings were designed with the architects Mathurin Crucy and Pierre-Louis van Cleemputte across the thirteen-hectare grounds. The Departmental Council of Loire-Atlantique purchased the estate in 1968; it was listed as a historic monument in 1969, progressively classified from 1988, and is now a public park and cultural center open free of charge every day, hosting contemporary art exhibitions and events.
