Weighted Catenary Arch

The Gateway Arch is a 192 meter monument in St. Louis, Missouri, clad in stainless steel and built as a weighted catenary arch. It is the world's tallest arch and Missouri's tallest accessible structure, and some sources consider it the tallest human-made monument in the Western Hemisphere. Built to commemorate the westward expansion of the United States and officially dedicated to the American people, it stands within Gateway Arch National Park as a National Historic Landmark and an internationally recognized symbol of St. Louis.
